Great Start to the New Year, with my best friend! We were locked out of our ice scating adventure so, recalculate and hike.
We ventured North of town to the Spruce Creek and Harbor to check out the ice conditions.
The ice in the harbor was already about 6" deep.
We hiked along the river bank in the campground with Chestnut Mountain's ski resort in the back ground, just across the river.
Susie didn't have as much confidence in the ice as I did but bridge seemed like a sure bet.
Beautiful.
The temp. is in the mid 20's and with clear skies you couldn't ask for a better day to get out and enjoy our little community which we've come to love and appreciate more and more each day.
After our hike we stopped by the Mill for the first half of the No. 17 Wisconsin Badgers (10-3, 7-1 Big Ten) and No. 19 Auburn
Tigers (8-4, 4-4 SEC) in search of redemption when they meet in the
Outback Bowl.....Update Badgers win in OT 34 -31!
Here's to our best year yet!
