Sugar Season 2022 has started!

It might not look like it now but the sugar season has started...

The extended forecast is looking great. 

Each year there's a lot of clean up to be done.  Even more this year with several ash trees

 dying off  and falling in the sugar bush. 

One of my new end rolls of bags came in last week so I'm ready to get tapping

After getting to know her friend Emily puckered up too.

Then after a breath mint and a splash of aftershave 

I went in for the double tap.

I also liked the expression on Liberty's and the other kids faces in the background.

UP THE CREEK

Maxine and I have been racking up the miles looking for some sheds.

And the walking isn't all that easy. Hiking over frozen creeks, up and down hills.

 

My hopes began to soar when I spotted a carcass just beyond Maxine.

But no luck... this is what was left of this little doe after the cayotes were done.

They've got to eat too.

The search continues.

 I rehydrated with Susie over a game of cribbage. With my christmas gift from Barbra, a deck of 

Schitt's Creek playing cards.
