Gin Clear

It's been great having Beau back.  He's worked hard cleaning up the wood pile. So, today's the day we went to one of our favorite places to fish.  That doesn't always mean catching.

We missed out on the 90* weather.  But, upper 80's and warm water temps were all we needed.
You can see Beau behind me, over my shoulder, working the far shore line.

Gin clear water and little pockets of deep water here and there,
 produced great rewards.
Beau caught several trout and some bass too
I just caught bass and failed to land a 16 + incher that I managed to knock off when trying to net it.  I had another break my light action line.
Beau and I have been working on the proper way to photograph your catch of the day.
As Dad always said  "First catch the fish"

A BIRTHDAY SURPRISE!

The girls invited Susie out to lunch at Carocelle Corner.  When Susie walked in she couldn't figure out who the young man was who was sitting at the table with the girls.
You can imagine her surprise when she realized Beau had driven 1200 miles back home to celebrate.
Happy Birthday to a wonderful wife and mother.
Your kindness and compassion for others has made me a much better man.
(thanks for the pics Peggy)
We met up after school in the valley
We inspected the beaver damage and Beau caught a few blue gills in the pond
He had a little luck on the stream too.

FIRST CATCH THE FISH...

 Location, location,location
With the first full week of school in the books.  We figured we should make a plan to do a little fishin on  one of the local trout streams.  Jace would come up stream.  I would drop in form the upper end and we would meet up for a shore line lunch in a beautiful walnut grove with Marty in the middle.
If you're going to do a shore line lunch.  Big Jim said the number one rule is to "first catch the fish"!
I hit a few pools up stream and had some short strikes.  Then is a grass lined cut I hooked and landed a nice rainbow stocker (lunch)and followed that up with a brown (catch and release) with the next cast.  That was easy enough.  I bushwhacked my way down stream figuring the other guys would have a trout or two to add to the mix.

I wasn't disappointed.  Marty had set up camp with a fire and chairs and yes a cool one or two.
Along with our new multi tool.  The pool basket which we found would work to carry gear, work as both a camp table and grill.

Surf and turf!  Sausage, peppers, zucchini, corn, fish and chips!
Cheers, Bob!
