Up Big Mill and back Down Little Mill.

Spotted a new eagle nest on the way up the valley as 2015 draws to a close.
Big mill homestead.
Conditions are not always perfect.
Crystal clear and cold.
Over to little mill to check in on pumpkin and squash and feed the birds at Joan and Marts.
Quick hike up to the lodge to check on supplies.

South Mountain, Phoenix, AZ: Warpaint-Corona de Loma-Old Man's Trail loop.

We finished up our Phoenix trip with hike up the south side of South Mountain and back.  Starting at the warpaint trail head.  We took the desert classic around to Corona de Loma and headed up the mountain.  That's where the wolf pack took off.  Beau and Kimber ventured  over the peak and down into a valley before heading back up to the National trail head for a few hundred yards, then head right onto Old Man's trail and back down the mountain to Secret Trail, then back onto Desert Classic.

Christmas Eve.

Soon after Jesus was born,  wise men were traveling; one night they noticed a very strange star in the sky.  They knew that this star meant that the King of the Jews, the One who would save the world had been born.

Merry Christmas Eve! Our holiday has been brightened with the smiles of Beau and Mallory.
This afternoon I hiked the tree farm with Marty and Jazzy.
Another day of fishing and another day of no fish.
Just a short family hike before we head on back home to open presents and grill up some steaks.
We've been blessed with another beautiful year and we are very thankful for all of our blessings.

Merry Christmas from our family to yours.
