Float, Fish, Storm, Cave & Camp!

After a full weekend of working around the house it was time to hit the stream again before school starts up, next week.
Stream conditions were good.  The water was low and trout were pooled up in pockets. We could hear the thunder in the distance but with no cell service we had no idea just what we were in for.
As the rain started we took shelter under a large basswood tree that hung over the stream.  For the time we remained dry as the tree shed any rain.
After about 20 min. it was clear that we wern't going to stay dry so I decided to float down the line and check out the bluff.
I tied off my kayak and hiked up the bluff and found a cave to ride the rest of the storm out.
It wasn't easy but Steve manuvered the slippery mud, wet log and slope to get up into the cave.  We ended up hanging out for about 45 more minutes.
Wet and cold we continued to fish the upper end of the lake.  I paddled ahead and put the alternator belt back on the bus.  We put warm, dry cloth on and I set Steve up with his favorite hat.
Breakfast for supper over a fire
After a night of cards and story telling it was time to turn in.
