We're Off to Utah!

After a long day of driving we ended up in the mountians just out side of Grand Junction
Time for a cup of joe

The next morning we were off for Utah.
Another long day of driving through some beautiful country and we ended up at Lone Rock on the beach
With a smokey haze in the air from near by wild fires it was time to go for a dip in Lake Powell

Forest fires Just to the west.

Happy to be off the road and near the water.
Just a day at the beach
Lake Powell is the second largest man made lake in the US.  It was formed by the construction of the Glen canyon dam in 1963 which damed the colorado river.
The bridge is 700 ft above the Colorad river.
Just down stream is the iconic Horse shoe bend with it's 1000 ft. cliffs
Horse Shoe Bend cuts the red brown Navajo sandstone.
