What a nice start to a Friday evening. I hit several spots along the Maquoketa with no luck. Another stream that I didn't know the name and than I finely caught a creek chub. So I was happy that I caught a fish.
I hit a pool a 100 yards down stream and I had a bump. The next cast I fished slow and BAM ! I got a hi and I set the hook.
Don't horse it. Take your time and keep the line tight.
It's surprising what you can catch on some of these little streams in the Driftless Region.
