LIVING ON THE EDGE.

After I got a little yard work done this am.  I took the dogs for a walk along the edge of the hay field.
The "edge effect" is a term often used in wildlife management to refer to an area where two habitat types meet.  Offering great diversity.  I picked  a few black raspberries to add to the blue berries iIpicked this morning.
I picked some fresh oyster mushrooms
Milkweed still grows on the edge.
 and they provide nectar
 for my bees
One of the biggest factors monarch decline is the increasing scarcity of milkweeds, the caterpillars host plant.

Back home the peaches are looking good
 The apples
Pears

And raspberries too
