The weekend is over and school starts tomorrow.
We got the kayaks out on the water down in the Green island bottoms for a shake down cruse.
It was a beautiful weekend with temps in the mid 70's, low humidity and clear sky's
The marsh was alive with herons, egrets, ducks, turtles with several types of lilies and wild hibiscus all a bloom.

grilled cheese burgers back home. Along with sweet corn smores and mojitos all an all a pretty great day.
After our bike ride around town we stopped in to see Kyle and Alisha's progress on their yurt site.
We're not homesteders as such, but we do live a simple life that is in touch with the cycle of work and rest is evident throughout nature. Our approach to living, based largely on the reduction of wants and a mostly non-monetary return from our organic horticulture, bee keeping and other sorts of labor. Were living the good life along the Mississippi river valley in north eastern Iowa.

# Buses For Bernie!
And the momentum will continue to grow as more Americans wake up and discuss getting big money out of politics, combating climate change, making college education more affordable, and dealing with obscene wealth and income inequality.
I got a great surprise today when I found out that my Cousins came down to Bellevue with Brother Steve to hang down at Alana's cabin.

Day 6 Happy Aniversery/Birthday
Yesterday was our 27th anniversary and Beau's 24th birthday. I'm so lucky to have such a great family and awesome life.
Well back to school came much sooner than what I planned. I stopped in to hang posters an organize piles of books.
Back home we worked around the house but as always we made time to walk the dogs.
We grilled up steaks and had a low key night at home, just the two of us and the dogs.
The garden is in full production. Tomatoes, melons, potatoes, beans zukes and cukes all you can eat !

Eight Jumps Down to Seven with the Click of an E mail.
I lost a day with just a click. It appears that I go back to school officially one day earlier than I thought. So, yesterday we out the morning in Omaha. We found a great little cafe, Lisa's Radial Cafe. It was a winner. The bakery next door was nice but it doesn't come close to matching up with Susie's baked goods back home.
It took us a good six hours to drive I-80 back across Iowa to the East coast. Happy to be back home after getting a chance to hang in Omaha with Bo and Cynthia.

Ten Days and Counting
I checked in on Ohlert's bees and ran in to Jace and Steelbelly. Then I took a rock run out toward Roly and wet a line. I fished the pond with a little popper and caught a large mouth and a blue gill.
I did an ally run and checked out the progress on Jerry and Gails garage.
Back home I unloaded, stacked and laid down my rock haul. Progress is being made.
Day nine, Road Trip.
