Fire and Ice...

I've had a little extra time in the sugar bush

Bags ice up now and then

Johnny Pacco stopped in to lend a hand

 

I got things all tarped up before the rain and the ice rolled in.

The stove is still kicking out the heat but I'll need to rebuild next spring

Then the Ice came.

We got about 1/4 of an inch coating on everything and a few branches came down

 

A SNOWY WALK

After checking in on Biscuit

We hiked down to the sugar bush

It's been about a 12 hour snow event, totaling about 8"

Temperature is in the mid 20's *F and light winds, for now.

I got an early sap run last week 

Which gave me a chance to get things lined up for the larger sap run to come in the following weeks

we were happy to get out and walk off some of the calories from all the goodies we tend to have on

these snow days. 

not too many folks out on the road today.
