DECEMBER 21 2019

Just a few days before  Christmas 2019 and the temperatures look to be in the 50*s for days.
So, it's time for an early morning run to to stream.
The lure of choise is this streamer that Dad tied in the 70's.
He would often sit at the kitchen table or back in his bedroom and tie flys, some better than others.
This one looks like a winner.
As you can see it's been a while sense I've had the fly rod out.
In the shade of the hillside it was still pretty frosty but it was nice to have the place all to myself
Dad was a game warden in the Driftless 1946 - 1983 and he taught me to use a flyrod early on, to
pick pockets and fish pools.
The sun warmed my back as things heated up at this pool.
 The shadow knows

Thanksgiving in CO.

Let the fun begin...  I got out early on monday and Susie and I were on the road by 3:00 pm.  By the time we got to burlington CO. I was ready for a quick nap.  Back on the road an and a few fluries later

The next thing ya know it's 5:00 am and we're snowed in at Love's for the next five hours.
Long, long story short.  More crappy driving weather, a two houre drive gets stretched into four hours and we're at Beau's.

Up early Wednesday and Beau and I are working on his bathroom door rehab project.
Beau's last trip home he picked up an old door from St Joe's.  Our job is to cut it down the sides and round the top so it fits his bathroom entery.
We took the took about two inches off of each side  an inlaied three hindges.
 Rounded the top.

Several hours later, a bit of indicission and nogot the fighting we got the job done.
Thanksgiving Day we all watched a herd of 50+ prong horns in Beau's back yard.
Most went under the fence while only a few big males jumped over while a jack rabbit watched the action.

Susie did a great job with the meal and BJ and Tara joined us.
K-9 patrole was called in for desert.
Terrance brought his wife and kids over too.  Scarlet was a good puppy.
And Okley was a busy little boy.
A parting shot to the west toward the mountians before heading back home.
